* Wednesday evening meals will resume on a weekly basis starting September 15th. 

Due to the rise in food costs the will be an increase in the suggested donation price for Wednesday night meals. The adult and children's meals will increase 50 cents and the family meal will increase $1.00. The new suggested donation is: Adult $4.00, Child $3.00, Family maximum cost $15.00.

Praying for Haiti

Go on a virtual prayer walk where you can join Haitian pastors and others in praying for God's healing and provision for the country of Haiti. Reports from missionaries indicate that The Holy Spirit is moving across the country, drawing the Haitian people to our Lord. With the help of the virtual prayer walk, you, too, can travel across Haiti, covering its people with your prayers. To join the virtual prayer walk for Haiti, click here.

This year marks the 70th Anniversary of constituting First Baptist as a church. The 70th Anniversary Committee is planning a Celebration for November 14. We will have a special church service and a potluck dinner after the service with a concert following. One opportunity we would like to make you aware of now is the opportunity to help under-write the cost of the meat for the dinner. If you would like to donate, there will be members of the committee in the Atrium after the service to accept your gifts. We will do this for 3 Sundays ending with September 12 to give as many of you as possible the opportunity to participate. Thank you for your prayers and support for this endeavor.

Monday evenings from 6:00 - 8:00 PM will be adult, open-gym time for basketball and/or volleyball.

Students in grades 6 - 12 are invited to our monthly open gym time from 6- 8 PM. Bring a drink, chips or a snack to share. Friends are welcome to join us!

Paintball
September 11th

The Student Ministry guys will be going paintballing on Sept 11 at Bing Field off of Rt. 143. Any guy coming to paintball should meet the group there and must have a waiver signed by their parents. The waivers are in the Student Suite area. Paintball cost $30 and an additional $15 for an extra 500 paintballs. Time: 10am-12pm.

Spread the word: Our 2nd Annual Fall Festival will offer family fun for the entire community. Come ready to celebrate the "harvest" that God has given you, as we serve our neighbors with food, music, games, and more!

Diamond Anniversary Potluck & Concert

Please join us as we celebrate the unity of two families into one. Angela Edmonds & Alexander Betts will be getting married on Saturday, September 11 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Bethalto.

In an effort to give to others this Christmas, our youth group would like to continue to reach out to the residents at the Baptist Children's Home . The youth are collecting change to purchase gifts for one teen boy and one teen girl. If you would like to support the actions of our youth group we have provided cans in the suites throughout the church complex. Students will be collecting the coins from the cans each Sunday after Small Groups.

The award-winning vocal band, Chapter 6, is returning for our 2nd annual Christmas Missions Benefit Concert and Dinner, on Friday, December 10th, so save the date!!!  Tickets will be made available in October.  Proceeds will benefit the Lottie Moon Christmas offering for IMB Missionaries.  (For a preview, click here: www.chapter6.com)
